Hi BookMyShow,

I like your app. It’s easy to use and does not have many annoying features. It’s simple and intuitive. However, I do have a complaint.

It’s about a movie that is set to be released on April 27th. It’s called AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR. I have been waiting for this movie since a decade. And when the day of announcement came that it’ll be released on April 27th, 2018, I was, for a moment, in disbelief! It was actually happening. I opened your app and clicked on the ‘interested’ button.

A few days later, I again check for the movie, just out of habit. I saw everything that was, except that my response to the ‘I am interested’ button wasn’t recorded. I again showed my interest.

This continued every time I checked back.

Then the fateful evening came when the ticket window was opened for booking. Now that I had shown my interest multiple times, I presumed that I would be getting a notification on a real time basis as others, so that I don’t miss booking it. However, it did not happen.

One of my friends, whose name starts with ‘A’, got the notification first, both the time once when bookings opened for 3D and then for IMAX3D.

However, I did not.

For both the times.

I did receive the notification around 30 minutes later.

30 MINUTES LATER.

And by that time all the IMAX3D seats (for 3) were booked.

At all the screens.

Of all the malls.

For most part of the entire weekend.

My question to you is: what is the algo that you use that distributes data like this? Is it alphabetically? Sequentially? Because that’s what it seems so. Why not add a ‘booking open card’ for each user who has shown interest and then send data to all the card minutes before the announcement? Or if there’s some way that you can add value to the cards instantly and synchronously, then that’s better. Till the time there’s any announcement just keep a message ‘hold your breath’.

Look man, I’m not techie. I’m just a guy who has been a fan of comics in general. And have been the first in my group to share the ‘thanos snap’ story. I don’t deserve it.

Thanks,

A Comics fan.
